Yo Soy Muy Guapo I Guess...

Hey yall hope you had a great week!

So this week was the last week of the transfer and I was really hoping that I was going to leave.  But unfortunately, I am staying for a 4th transfer here in Brookings.  Now I'm not upset that I get to stay here, I mean I love it here.  But it's only fun as a missionary for like 4 and a half months and then it gets boring.  But I'm excited as well.  We have some awseome people we are teaching who have a lot of potential.

This week we had a lesson with our friend Lowless and he is a super cool guy.  He is from Papua New Guinea and he is a such a cool guy.  He is very introverted and very soft spoken so it was kinda hard for him to talk to the members, but he will get more comfortable as he comes more.  But the craziest thing is that he has only been in the US for three weeks.  He is here with some program where he comes to SDSU for school, but hopefully we will be able to set him on date for baptism.

Anyways, the reason I named the email this is because recently I have been trying to learn Spanish.  Also, while at our weekly service at Feeding Brookings, me and my comp got assigned to help distribute extra produce for people who get a box of food, and this one car came up and I helped the lady.  She was about her early to mid 30s and spoke only Spanish from what i can tell, but she can understand english a little so i helped her get her watermelons and stuff.  And right as she was about to leave she said "Hablas Espanol" which means do you speak Spanish and I said "Un pocito" which means a little.  Then she said "Muy guapo" which means very handsome and as she said this, She and her friend laughed and drove off.  It was pretty funny.  So I guess it's not only my mom and grandmas that think I'm handsome.

One of the craziest reality checks that has been hittin' me lately, is that my year mark is less than 10 days away.  It's just so crazy how times flies on the mission.  Next thing I know, I will be less than 10 days from coming home.  But it's just such a fun and exciting mile stone.

Anyways, please pray from Mike, Lowless, and Taimoor.  They are super close to baptism and need all the blessing they can get.

☆Spritual thought☆

Recently, me and my comp at a member meal shared a video that the church put out.  It's the one where Elder Jeffrey R. Holland tells this story where he took his son on a drive to see some pretty landscapes and sunset.  And when it had gotten dark they decided to head back home but on their way back they came across a fork in the road.  Elder Holland told his son to pray about which road to take and they both felt that they needed to take the right road and when they had gone down it they found that the road was a dead end.  Then his son asked why would the Lord impress us to take the right road knowing that the right road was a dead end?

Elder Holland said that the Lord will guide and answer our prayers sometimes in a way that will force us to take the road which leads to a dead end, so that when we take the right road, we will know for certain that the road that we are on is the right one and will take us home.  This allows us to recognize it when we are in the same situation later on in life and then we will take the correct road instead of having to pray and ask which one to take.

Love yall have a good week

Elder Denning
