Closer To God

Hye everybody! I hope you all had a great week this week and a great Easter Sunday.


This week honestly felt a bit slow because of the weather lately.  It's been pretty cold and windy and snowy and rainy which sucks because the first few weeks I was here it was super warm and I was wearing short sleeves but I can't control the weather.


On Thursday we went of exchanges and me and Elder Findlay were in his area and we kind of popped off this day.  We were able to set 5 people on date, pretty much 7 because this mom said that theses two kids that they have been teaching are going to get baptized but they just don't know it yet, so that was super cool. Not sure how many of them are actually going to be baptized on that day but hopefully it's all of them.


This weekend on Saturday we had a baptism for this awesome little kid named CG he was literally so excited to be baptized.  Every time we went over to teach him, he and his brother were super excited to see us.  It's pretty fun because his little brother Issac was super jealous that CG was being baptized but during the actual baptism when he was brought out of the water he had the biggest smile on his face and he was super happy.  After this baptism, during the part when people give little talks and stuff his mom went up and gave a little testimony and said that when she named him CG she wanted him to be Close to God always and me and my comp thought that was the coolest thing to be named Closer to God.


I also hit 6 months on the mish which is crazy becuase it felt like i have just left on my mission and I have been gone for 6 months.  Well, I guess I'm half way to half way, but for real I'm super grateful I get to be out here helping all these people and to spread the joy of this gospel.


Other than that not much more happend this week but I guess I can tell you about our most promising people for baptism. Right now we really only have one and his name is Daniel I think I've mentioned him a couple times before but I can't really remember.  This guy is super cool wants to flip his life around and be baptized and he is super close.  He just needs to be married to his girlfriend and come to church one more time. But it's been hard becuae he has a bad heart and get strokes often and he's been getting them before church so hopefully that doesn't keep happening.


3 Nephi 11: 10-11


10 Behold, I am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets testified shall come into the world.


 11 And behold, I am the light and the life of the world; and I have drunk out of that bitter cup which the Father hath given me, and have glorified the Father in taking upon me the sins of the world, in the which I have suffered the will of the Father in all things from the beginning.


God is great, Jesus died for us so we can be resurrected and live with our family forever in never ending happiness.

Getting Eaten Alive

Hey yall! Hopw you had a good week and a good 4th.  This week was pretty good. This week was transfer week so things were a little crazy but me and my comp are both staying here in Brookings which is lit, but nothing really to crazy happend with transfers sooooo. But of course we had the 4th of July this week and sadly, cuz this ward is a little wack, no one invited us over for a party or fireworks so we were on our own.  We went to Walmart and bought a cheap charcoal grill and we whipped up some mash potatoes and some steaks. But after that we tried to go and played Frisbee golf and as soon as we started playing the first hole we were getting swarmed by like 40-50+ mosquitos.   Because of that, the second we finished the first hole we booked it back to our car and left and went bowling. Yo Soy Muy Guapo I Guess...

Hey yall hope you had a great week! So this week was the last week of the transfer and I was really hoping that I was going to leave.  But unfortunately, I am staying for a 4th transfer here in Brookings.  Now I'm not upset that I get to stay here, I mean I love it here.  But it's only fun as a missionary for like 4 and a half months and then it gets boring.  But I'm excited as well.  We have some awseome people we are teaching who have a lot of potential. This week we had a lesson with our friend Lowless and he is a super cool guy.  He is from Papua New Guinea and he is a such a cool guy.  He is very introverted and very soft spoken so it was kinda hard for him to talk to the members, but he will get more comfortable as he comes more.  But the craziest thing is that he has only been in the US for three weeks.  He is here with some program where he comes to SDSU for school, but hopefully we will be able to set him on date for baptism. LEETS GOO CHEIFS

How's it going peeps?  I hope y'alls weeks was great!!!   This week was baller we had zone conference so that was swag. Tuesday was just a regular normal day just knocking doors and trying to find some people to teach. Since our area is super big we cover many small little towns and we recently got a referal for this lady next to this one small town called Cumberland. So on this day we decided to go down there to see if we could talk to a few people but it really sucked since literally nobody was home and the lady that we had the referral for said that she didn't want to meet with us yet since she has like issues with her husband so she didn't want us to come over. So the whole like 25-30 minute drive to this small town was all for nothing, so that sucked. Then when we got back we went over to a recent converts house to help him move some stuff in his nasty garage and when i say this garage was nasty is was NASTY so after that, I just ended the night.
